VOLUNTEERS

Ribbons

The stopwatch time will be the official time.

The timers are not to judge where  swimmers place in an event.   Time cards will be brought to the ribbon table by the
runner.  Collect all cards from each event.  Pull the disqualified, exhibition, or other swimmers first.  These cards are
pulled and given to the volunteer who is filing for that swimmers team.

When a heat card indicates two times that are exactly the same ,that time will be used, not the third time that may be
higher  or lower.  (Example: times of 1.17, 1.17, and 1.28 are recorded,   official time would be 1.17.)

Three times should be given for each swimmer.  If only two are given, then add and divide by two for the official time.
Circle official time, write the time in the space provided.  Place swimmers by time, and give all cards to the scorer when
all cards are in for that event.

Scoring

Place Individual Events Relays
1st 7 points 14 points
2nd 5 points 10 points
3rd 4 points 8 points
4th 3 points 6 points
5th 2 points 4 points
6th 1 point 2 points

Each team receives points from its highest  placed swimmer or relay team in each event.  Ribbons will be  awarded to all
swimmers for  1st through 6th place.   When two swimmers in an event have duplicate times, both will be awarded the
same points  and the same place ribbons, but no ribbons will be awarded for the next place in sequence.  (Example: two
swimmers share 1st place, then no second place ribbon or points will be awarded, however, points and ribbons will be
awarded for 3rd through 6th place. Remember to check for disqualified or exhibition swimmers.

Copy first through sixth place winners and their times on score sheet.

Include initials of the team they belong to alongside their names.

Assign points to each team according to each team’s highest place only.

Tally each sheet on the bottom and double check totals.
Carry the totals to the beginning of the next score sheet.

A copy of each sheet gets filed with both teams. Another copy is posted as scores become available.

League representatives and the meet director for the meet may have further requests or last minute changes to the process.
